How To Change Your Name In Starbound

Changing my character proper name...

I want to know if there is a way to change my Apex name, i mean he has what i idea was a rare proper name (Kyo) only it seems like in a lot of severs i cant connect considering other users already have that name. I really enjoy playing in public servers only half of them are blocked to me -.- is there whatever control or file that i can apply to change my graphic symbol name without having to create another one???

Ps; I am non native english speaker, so sorry if there are some mistakes :D

At that place used to be a not bad program called Starbound Save Editor (or SBSE for brusque) that allowed you to edit a number of things almost your character, including (but non limited to) body color, pixel count, name etc. From what i know it's been somewhat abandoned.

With a quick google search i found something else. http://c4isbad.com/starreader/ You need to get to the folder where the player files are located (which is Windows (C:)/Programme Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Starbound/storage/histrion ). Then y'all need to figure out which one of the files is the one you want to edit (just select them and click "Upload File and Showtime Editing, if its not the correct character, but go dorsum and try another file). Then just click on the characters proper name, enter the new name and click ok. The balance of the instructions are on the site.

Look, does your character name demand to be unique for y'all to connect to a server ? That's rather bad pattern, even more than and then since in that location is no official manner to change information technology...

I wanted to change the name of one of my characters some time agone and it involved a fair bit of footling around within the salve files, manually changing each entry of my characters proper name to the new one. Far easier to apply 1 of the programs to do information technology for you. ._.

I used notepad++. Ctrl + f to search the name, and so select it and change it to whatever you desire
